ONE+2 Artist Studios Open the Doors for the weekend of 19-20 September, 10am-4pm

Explore the creative spaces of ONE+2 Artist Studios during the annual Open Studios Weekend. Meet resident artists, view works in progress and finished artworks and discover the studios of 30+ artists. Workshops and demonstrations will be held throughout the weekend, with original artworks available for purchase.
There will be group show in the gallery and workshops. Please signup for a workshop if you wish to participate. Alternatively you can wander through the studios. Children and pets are welcome.

Photography with John McRae
John McRae is a Sydney-based commercial photographer with an impressive 30 year track record of success in the industry. Over the course of his career, he has built a solid reputation for delivering exceptional photography across a wide range of commercial sectors, including portraiture, architecture, theatre, fashion and general commercial photography. His work has attracted international recognition, with many overseas clients trusting him to capture their brands with precision and artistry.

An introductory workshop exploring two fundamental studio lighting styles—high key and low key—while emphasising
the importance of building rapport and collaboration with the model. W/shop duration: 45mins. Limited participants ~15
people due to limited space. This workshop will be held in the photography studio at OnePlus2 Studios.

Constructing a Botanical Sculpture with Jenny Rix
Jenny Rix is an Australian artist whose practice explores line, shadow and composition through photography and botanical sculpture. Using naturally shed Australian flora, pods and fronds, Jenny creates intricate sculptural works that reveal the beauty and character of these materials. Her work has been exhibited in Australia and France and is held in institutional and private collections. Jenny will give a 20-minute botanical weaving demonstration in her studio, with participants encouraged to try their hand at botanical weaving. Booking through Humantix – sessions are limited to 8 people.

Life Drawing Workshop – Introduction to Proportion with Artist Pina Bartolo
In this workshop, you will be introduced to basic construction and Proportion of the Classical standing figure. Learn how to create a simple line frame and build shapes to represent anatomical segments, progressing to 3D forms. All materials supplied. Register at Humanitix to participate in the workshop.

Pina Bartolo is a figurative artist with a passion for the spaces we inhabit, physical, personal and psychological. She is interested in perspective, the effect of light on form, and the construction of a composition. Drawing and observation from life have always been the foundation of her practice, working plein air, setting up models, or arranging objects and flowers into balanced compositions. She is an experienced educator in painting, Life drawing, and Portraiture, believing that everyone is inherently creative. Pina has been a Resident Artist at the One+2 Studios Rozelle since 2009.
