Studio work in progress

Butcher, baker and the candlestick maker (Tom, Dick and Harry). Oil on canvas. Approx 120cm square (ish).

Working on this upside down piece. Looking at things upside down rearranges them as an abstracted image. Also 3 is a bit of a magic number. It’s not quite finished (or resolved) as they say in education art-speak. Back to work on it tomorrow.

Woke up this morning to doomscroll the Trump insanity (is that man gunning for a civil war? How did he ever get to be president?) and watch the summer rain patter down on Sydneytown. This drawing from the other night feels like January 2021 in all of it’s slow motion gloom.

Swimming in the sea of regrets. Purple pencil on green Xerox paper, A4.
Happy Clapper
