“MacArthur Park” is a song written and composed by Jimmy Webb.  Over the top lyrics and metaphors (likening lost love to a cake left out in the rain) have been described as ‘bloated’ and ‘loopy’.  And yet, every conversation about bad pop songs takes you back to this one.
